The True Definition of Educators Caring Versus Not Caring

Over the past nine months, my eyes have been opened to the world of education on another level. The research I’ve done, the things I’ve seen and heard have been really encouraging and disturbing at the same time. It has driven me to do whatever it takes to make a difference.

Education is the most important part of our lives and also the most dangerous and controversial matter in America. Children’s lives are at risk daily for reasons they shouldn’t be.

The school which my children attend received a failing grade and faced being taken over by another charter management organization or permanent closure. Parents discovered so many unethical things going on at the expense of our children. It was the most heartbreaking thing to witness.

When you step into any school building, it should never make you cringe or feel uneasy. Some schools I’ve visited have made me wonder how are they still educating children. Stories I’ve heard have been unbelievable.

I have a friend whose child attends a local school and the things she’s experienced have been jaw-dropping. The communication between home and school should be ongoing. A parent should never have to wait until their child gets home to hear there was an altercation at school involving their child especially when the child was hurt. My friend’s child had been having numerous altercations with kids at his school and the teachers and administration had been aware of each incident. But they didn’t inform my friend.

When educators truly start caring more about the little minds in the buildings getting fed rather than their social or economical status, education will take on a whole new direction and meaning. Children are  being minimized and it’s all about the price tag per head. Our children are worth more than money can buy.

How can you relate to my concerns and problems when most educators making executive decisions have children who aren’t being educated in the same classroom as the rest of our children?
